Good question, huh? No, not really. I had a person tell me recently that she thought $40 was too high for an 8x10, so she just downloaded the proofs from the proofs page and edited out the copyright (which is against the law in and of itself, by the way). But instead of educating her about the expense of my thousands of dollars of equipment, the schooling I've paid for, the services I pay for, the help I have to pay, the hotel, the travel, my aching feet and back, etc, etc, I simply told her this: I think diamonds are overpriced too and I've wanted a diamond ring for a long time, do you think I should just steal one?
I have no idea what makes people think digital possessions are any different than other possessions.
